Burglar Breaks In Through Doggy Door

The following information was reported by Evanston Police on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013. Where arrests are included, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following arrests and incidents were reported by the Evanston Police Department:

Gunfire Reported on Brummel Street

Police investigated a report that someone fired a gun in the 1600 block of Brummel Street at 2:14 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11. Nothing was found in the area.

Burglar Enters Through Dog Door

Someone forced their way in through a dog door in the 1700 block of Crain, then stole a 32-inch Samsung flat screen TV between 5:45 a.m. and 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, police reported.

Burglar Takes Leaf Blower, Lawn Trimmer

Someone entered an unlocked trailer in the 2200 block of Foster Street and stole an Echo gas leaf blower and gas lawn trimmer at 2:03 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, according to police.

Arrests: Theft, Cannabis

Maurice McKenzie Jr., 20, of the 1700 block of Hartrey in Evanston, was arrested and charged with theft under $500 at 11:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8 in the 1100 block of Church Street, according to police.

Odai Dwayne Richards, 19, of the 700 block of Dobson in Evanston, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis in the 100 block of Custer at 8:05 a.m. Tuesdya, Sept. 10, police reported.

Wallets Stolen From Counter

Someone stole a black leather wallet from the counter at a department store in the 2400 block of Main Street between 3:30 and 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, according to police.

Someone stole a dark green Levenger wallet from the counter of a restaurant in the 500 block of Dempster Street at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, police reported.

Cell Phone Stolen From Locker

Someone stole an Apple cell phone from a school locker at Evanston Township High School between 3:05 and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, according to police.
