Burglars Hit Northwest Evanston Homes, Cars

The following arrests and incidents were reported by the : 

Arrests Include Battery, Theft, DUI

Juana Arreguin, 46, of the 3300 block of Church Street in Skokie, was arrested and charged with criminal trespassing at 3:03 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, in the 2000 block of Darrow Avenue, police reported.

Three men were arrested after they allegedly threw a cup of liquid on someone at the CTA station in the 1600 block of Benson Avenue at 11:07 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, police reported. Panagiotis Bourlokas, 20, of the 9000 block of Kolmar in Skokie, and Andrew D. Iniguez, 22, of the 800 block of Hinman in Evanston, were charged with assault. Luis A. Rivera, 22, of the 7000 block of North Winchester Street in Chicago, was charged with battery. 

Vincent Deangelo Bryson, 26, of the 1000 block of West Hollywood Avenue in Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence in the 1900 block of West Howard Street at 2:14 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, according to police.

Gregory L. Lord, 44, who told police he was homeless, was arrested and charged with criminal damage to property after he allegedly used a chair to break the windshield of a 2009 Chevrolet parked in the 500 block of Davis Street around 11:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, according to police.

Scott Robert-Hart Reading, 41, of the 3200 block of West Washington Boulevard in Chicago, was arrested and charged with theft over $500 after he allegedly stole a black leather Kenneth Cole briefcase with its contents and a silver Apple Macbook laptop computer from a chair in a restaurant in the 600 block of Church Street between 8:20 and 8:40 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, police reported. 

Batteries on Brown, Dewey 

Three “known offenders” punched someone in the face in the 1700 block of Brown Avenue between 9:00 and 9:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, according to police.

Two known offenders attacked their victim in the common area of a condo or apartment building in the 2100 block of Dewey Street around 11:15 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, police reported. 

Assault on Sheridan Road

A man ran toward someone at 1:54 a.m. Monday, Sept. 3, in the 1800 block of Sheridan Road, according to police. 

Shots Fired on Grey, Darrow

Police investigated a report that a man had fired a gun at 11 p.m. at the intersection of Grey Avenue and Foster Street, according to police. Nothing was found in the area.

One person called police to report that a man had displayed a handgun in a car at Lyons Street and Darrow Avenue around 11:10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, according to police. 

String of Residential Burglaries Reported in Northwest Evanston 

 Someone entered a home in the 700 block of Florence Avenue between 2:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, and 8 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31, according to police. The burglar stole a black and silver Toshiba laptop computer, a brown leather watch, a gold and silver Swiss watch, a silver Whitehall high school ring from the class of 1992, a gold Navy bracelet with an anchor symbol and Irish wedding rings, among other things.

Someone used a tool to break into a garage in the 2200 block of Pioneer Road and stole an Apple phone charger, an Apple iPod-to-stereo adapter cable and a fake leather pouch from a 2008 Toyota parked inside between 9:30 p.m. Saturdya, Sept. 1, and 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 3, police reported. 

Someone entered an unlocked garage in the 2400 block of Payne Street and stole two bottles of wine and a bottle of alcohol from a 2003 Jeep and 2008 Toyota parked inside between 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, and 8 a.m. Monday, Sept. 3, according to police. 

Someone stole a Samsung cell phone and Nintendo electronics by entering the unlocked window of a home in the 2200 block of Foster Street between 4 and 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, according to police. 

Cars Burglarized in Northwest Evanston

Someone stole quarters from an unlocked 2010 Chevrolet parked in the 1900 block of Washington Street between 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, and 7:02 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31, according to police. 

Someone stole cash, Persol tortoiseshell glasses and a pair of Kate Spade glasses from an unlocked Mazda parked in a driveway in the 2700 block of Woodland Road between 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, and 6:45 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31, police reported. 

Someone stole a Virgin smart phone from an unlocked 2010 Subaru parked in a driveway in the 2300 block of Marcy Avenue between 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, and 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 3, police reported.

Someone stole $40 from a wallet left in an unlocked 2009 Jeep parked in the 2600 block of Eastwood Avenue between 11 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, and 8:40 a.m. Monday, Sept. 3, according to police. 

Someone stole cash from a 2002 Ford parked in the 2200 block of Lincolnwood Drive between 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, and 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, police reported. 

Someone stole a Chase Visa credit card, an Orchard Bank Visa card and Illinois state ID from an unlocked car in the 1800 block of Brown Avenue between 1:30 and 4:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, according to police. 

Someone stole an Apple iPod from an unlocked 2003 GMC parked in a driveway in the 2200 block of Foster Street between 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, and 6 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, police reported.

Hyundai and Nissan Stolen in Auto Theft

Someone stole a dark blue 2011 Hyundai from the parking lot of an apartment in the 700 block of Hinman Avenue around 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, police reported. 

Someone stole a black, four-door 1997 Nissan Altima that was parked in a business lot in the 1000 block of Grove Street at 8:44 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, according to police. 

Someone stole a GPS unit and a green men’s Cannondale hybrid bicycle from an unlocked garage in the 2400 block of Payne Street between 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, and 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 3, according to police. 

Bicycles Stolen On Main, Hinman

Someone stole a red Torelli bicycle with a white fork from a garage in the 1300 block of Main Street around 4:15 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, police reported.

Someone stole a Trek cross-train bicycle with a rear rack and an older cruiser bicycle from an unlocked garage in the 1200 block of Hinman Avenue between 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, and 6:15 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 1, according to police.

Thieves Steal Wallet, Computers, Cell Phone, Bike Parts

Someone stole a wallet from the purse of a shopper at a grocery store in the 1600 block of Chicago Avenue between 3:00 and 3:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 3, police reported.

Someone stole an Apple laptop computer and an Apple mp3 player from a room in a hotel in the 1700 block of Orrington Avenue between 10:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, according to police. 

Someone stole a cell phone that was delivered to an apartment building in the 1100 block of Church Street between 12 and 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, police reported. 

Someone stole a Cygolite 500 lumen light from a bike left in an apartment or condo common area in the 1200 block of Hull Terrace, according to police. 

Thief Steals Muffer, Catalytic Converter

Someone stole a muffler and a catalytic converter from a 1995 Toyota parked in the 2000 block of Darrow Avenue at 10:24 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31, police reported. 

Retail Theft: Laptop, Doritos

A man and a woman stole an HP Pavilion laptop computer from a store in the 2200 block of Howard Street between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, police reported.

Two men stole a bag of Doritos from a pharmacy in the 100 block of Asbury Avenue at 4:34 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, according to police. 

A woman stole hair extensions from a business in the 700 block of Howard Street around noon Sunday, Sept. 2, police reported. 

Criminal Damage to Property

A man left marks on the front door of an apartment in the 900 block of Sherman Avenue between March 25 and Aug. 20, according to police. 

Someone scratched the hood of a 2001 Ford parked in a cemetery in the 300 block of Chicago Avenue between 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, and 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, police reported. 

Someone damaged the rear tailgate of a 1996 Chevrolet parked in an alley in the 1300 block of Hartrey Avenue between 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, and 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, according to police.

Someone punctured all four tires of a 2000 Nissan parked in the 2400 block of Lake Street between 1:00 and 3:07 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, police reported. 

A man kicked in the glass door of a restaurant in the 1700 block of Orrington Avenue at 5:39 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, according to police. 

Someone threw a brick through the kitchen window of a home in the 1800 block of Brown Avenue around 1:35 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, according to police.

Someone damaged the door of a home in the 500 block of Howard Street between 8:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, and 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, police reported. 

Someone damaged the storm door of an apartment in the100 block of Clyde Avenue between 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, according to police. 

Graffiti Found on Oakton, Stewart

Graffiti appeared on a light pole in the 1400 block of Oakton Street at 3:53 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, police reported. 

Graffiti appeared on a utility box at the intersection of Stewart Avenue and Livingston Street between 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, and 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 3, according to police. 

Graffiti appeared on a business in the 1500 block of Emerson Street around 2:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, according to police.
