Burglars Use Key to Steal TVs, Wedding Ring

The following arrests and incidents were reported by the Evanston Police Department:

Burglars Use Key, Steal TV, Xbox, Wedding Ring

Four men used a key to enter a home in the 1000 block of Darrow Avenue between 5:30 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, police reported. They stole a wedding band, high school graduation ring, baseball ring Xbox gaming system, cash, Nikon camera, 36-inch LG flat screen TV and 45-inch Samsung flat screen TV, according to police.

Gunfire Reported On Lake

Evanston police investigated a report that someone fired a gun in the 1500 block of Lake Street at 9:52 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22. Nothing was found in the area.  

Car Burglars Steals Air Compressor, Power Drill, Tools

Someone broke the door of a 2007 Chevrolet and stole an air compressor in the 1000 block of Dewey Avenue between 10 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, and 4:17 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23, police reported.

Someone forced open the door of a 2008 Ford parked in the 1700 block of Leland Avenue and stole a brown tool belt with tools, DeWalt power drill and bits between 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, and 6:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, according to police.

Someone broke the window of a 2013 Ford parked in the 1800 block of Lemar Avenue and stole a battery impact wrench engine analyzer and light meter reader between 8:12 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, and 8 a.m.  Thursday, Aug. 22, according to police.

Man Charged With Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Nelson Cruz, 30, of the 2300 block of North Mason in Chicago, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia Aug. 10 in the 300 block of Chicago Avenue, according to police.

Bicycle Stolen On Florence, Main

Someone stole a blue and gray Giant bicycle with a missing toe clip in the 700 block of Florence Avenue between 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, and 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, police reported.

Someone stole a gray Raleigh Revenio 1.0 bicycle that was locked to a storage rack in the 600 block of Main Street between 3 and 10 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, according to police

Three Men Steal Tequila From Grocery Store

Three men stole a bottle of tequila from a grocery store in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue at 11:56 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, according to police.

iPad Stolen From Apartment

Someone stole a white Apple iPad two from an apartment in the 2000 block of Dodge Avenue between 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, and 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, according to police.

Thief Takes Camera On Florence

Someone stole a 35 mm Nikon D5200 camera with flash that was left outside in the 700 block of Forest Avenue at 3:40 p.m. Mondday, Aug. 19, police reported.
