A cab driver was shot in the head at 2 a.m. Sunday on the 500 block of Elmwood Ave., police said.
Police said the victim, a cab driver for Best Taxi, is currently in critical condition and on life support. The name of the driver has not yet been released.
It is also not clear if the driver was shot by a passenger or a person on the street.

Evanston Police detectives along with the North Regional Major Crime Task Force are investigating the shooting, and have had the area around Elmwood near South Blvd. blocked off all morning.
Police initally responded to the incident after hearing a report of a cab hitting another car, as the cab rolled into another car after the shooting.
