Bullet Holes Found in Several Parked Vehicles

The following arrest information was supplied by the Evanston Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Car burglary

A vehicle's driver's side window was smashed open in the 2400 block of Howard Street on April 18. While the offender gained access, nothing was reported missing.

A Michael Kors wallet and purse were reported stolen from a car parked in the 1900 block of Green Bay Road on April 11.

Bullet holes reported in several vehicles

A total of five car owners reported bullet holes in their vehicles on April 14 around 11:35 p.m. Four of the cars were hit in the 2100 and 2200 block of Emerson Street while another was hit in the 1800 block of Hartrey Avenue, police said.

No further details were provided. 

Punctured tires

A vehicle owner reported that an unknown person(s) punctured the tires of his or her vehicle parked in the 500 block of Florence Avenue on April 13.

Simple battery

A person was slapped in the face in the common area of his or her apartment in the 900 block of Sherman Avenue on April 12.

Condo burglary

A condominium in the 800 block of Forest Avenue was reported burglarized on April 12. According to the report, brute force was used against a door to gain entry. It is unclear what items were stolen.

Stolen auto

A car parked in the 1100 block of Sherman Avenue was reported stolen on April 13. The victim told police that he or she left the keys in the car and running, the report stated.

A 2004 Infiniti sedan was reported stolen from the 2200 block of Central Street on April 13.

A car parked in the 600 block of Emerson Street was reported stolen on April 14.

'Breaking bread'

A delivery truck driver reported that an unknown person(s) stole several packages of bread from his vehicle in the 1200 block of Chicago Avenue on April 13.  The estimated loss was less than $500, the report stated.

Retail theft

A prepaid phone was reported stolen from a pharmacy store in the 900 block of Dodge Avenue on April 12.

A bottle of alcohol was reported stolen from a grocery store in the 1900 block of Dempster Street on April 12.

Shots fired

Police responded to a shots fired complaint at the intersection of Grey and Foster on April 14 around 2 a.m. Police canvassed the area but found nothing, the report said.

Stolen garbage can

A homeowner reported that someone stole his or her garbage can from outside their home in the 2000 block of Dodge Avenue on April 13.

Domestic battery

A 21-year-old Evanston man was charged with domestic battery on April 17. The offender was arrested in the 1800 block of Monroe Street around 8:20 p.m.

A 22-year-old Evanston man was charged with domestic battery on April 12. The offender was arrested in the 700 block of Brummell Street around 2:30 p.m.

DUI

Charles Carra, 43, of Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on April 12. Carra was arrested in the 1400 block of Sherman Avenue around 2:30 a.m.

Aggravated assault

Alvin Keys, 36, of Riverdale, was charged with aggravated assault on April 14. Keys was arrested in the 1900 block of Dewey around 12:14 a.m., police said. No further details were provided.
