Police arrested a 33-year-old Evanston man and charged him with several felony counts after they searched his home and found marijuana, “crack” cocaine and $1,200 believed to be from illegal drug sales.
Members of the police department’s special operations group executed a search warrant in the 1600 block of Davis Street around 5:35 a.m. Tuesday, according to a release from the police department. They found approximately 15 grams of cannabis, a small amount of “crack” cocaine, drug packaging materials and drug paraphernalia, as well as the cash.
Police also arrested Andre S. Stinette, a resident in the house, and charged him with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver and unlawful possession of cannabis with a prior conviction, all felonies. Charges for possession of cannabis were enhanced because Stinette was convicted on a previous felony, according to police.
