Craigslist Exchange Turns Into Armed Robbery

The following arrests and incidents were reported by the Evanston Police Department:

Craigslist Exchange Turns Into Armed Robbery
A victim went to meet someone to buy phones from a Craigslist ad at 11:45 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6, in the 2200 block of Oakton Avenue, according to police. When the victim arrived, a man lunged at him with a knife and took his money.

Arrests: Domestic Battery, Cannabis Possession
A 58-year-old Evanston woman was arrested and charged with domestic battery at 4:10 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, according to police.

Ronald Patrick Lynch, 55, of the 1200 block of West Pratt in Chicago, was arrested and charged with criminal trespass at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, in the 300 block of Dempster Street, according to police.

Marvin T. Rankins, 28, of the 1000 block of Grove Street in Evanston, was arrested and charged with a noise violation at his home at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, police reported.

Clinton R. Ware, 34, of the 1000 block of Darrow Avenue, was arrested and charged with battery at 11:16 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, in the 1900 block of Dempster Street, according to police.

Christopher Michael Turner, 30, of the 1400 block of West Jarvis Street in Chicago, was arrested and charged with cannabis possession in the 300 block of Howard Street at 12:53 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, according to police.  

Thief Steals Video Games, Thermal Underwear
A man stole Nintendo video games and Merona thermal underwear from a department store in the 2200 block of Howard Street at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6, according to police.

Tires Slashed On Howard
Someone slashed the tires of a 2008 Audi parked in the 1400 block of Howard Street between 4 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, and 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, according to police.

Cash Stolen From Evanston Public Library
A man stole cash that was left unattended at the Evanston Public Library in the 1700 block of Orrington Avenue at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, police reported. 

Graffiti Appears On Ashland, Dewey
Graffiti appeared on a school in the 900 block of Ashland Avenue between 9:52 a.m. and 12 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, according to police.

Graffiti appeared on a residential garage in the 1200 block of Dewey Avenue between 12:01 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1, and 2 p.m. Thursdya, Jan. 2, according to police.
