A notice from the Evanston Police Department.

From the Evanston Police Department:

On Sunday, September 19 at approx. 9:45 p.m. Evanston Police responded to a call of a home invasion to a residence in the 1700 block of Monroe St. in Evanston.  Upon arrival, officers located a victim who said two offenders armed with handguns had forced the victim into his residence when he arrived home and demanded money and drugs.

The offenders then fled the residence and left the area.  Evanston officers in the area observed a vehicle toward the Evanston – Chicago border and attempted to stop the vehicle. At this time, the vehicle fled southbound into the City of Chicago and eluded the officers.   A short time later, this vehicle was subsequently located in the 3000 block of West Jerome Ave. abandoned by the occupants initially observed by police.
