EPD To Conduct Roadside Safety Checks

The checks will be conducted from May 27 to May 28.

From the Evanston Police Department:

The Evanston Police Department is pleased to announce that they will be conducting a Roadside Safety Check beginning on Friday May 27, from 10:00 p.m. to Saturday May 28, at 4:00 a.m. The safety check will be conducted in a high volume traffic area within the City of Evanston.

The objectives of the Roadside Safety Check are designed to reduce traffic crashes and the liability associated with violations of vehicular safety laws.

Our goal is to detect and enforce violations associated with impaired driving, as well as any occupant restraint violations. Additional enforcement activities will focus on compliance with the Illinois driver license statutes, liability insurance compliance, and other vehicle statutes and/ or ordinances.
