Evanston Fire Division Chief Retires After 26 Years

Evanston Fire & Life Safety Services is announcing the retirement of Division Chief Geoff Block effective Friday, December 27, 2013.

Division Chief Block started his career with the Evanston Fire Department on May 11, 1987 and has served for over 26 years.

“Division Chief Block has served our Department and the City of Evanston with honor and distinction throughout his career. He has done so in the multiple ranks and positions he has held with our Department: Firefighter/Paramedic, Fire Inspector/Investigator, Fire Captain and Division Chief of Training and Professional Development.  We are thankful for all he has done to leave our Department in a better place” says Chief Klaiber.
