Evanston Man Arrested With Gun On Darrow
Police arrested a man on charges of unlawful use of a weapon after they were called to investigate a disturbance on Darrow Avenue.
An Evanston man was arrested with a loaded 9mm handgun Thursday night when police were called to a disturbance on Darrow Avenue.
Police were investigating the scene of the disturbance around 7:30 p.m. when they observed a man with a gun, according to a release from Evanston Police Cmdr. Jason Parrott. They arrested Andre R. Seals, 30, of 1914 Darrow Ave., on charges of unlawful use of a weapon, a felony offense.
An officer on patrol saw a large crowd at Emerson and Darrow and stopped to investigate, according to the Evanston Review, when someone yelled, "he's taking out a gun." Police chased two suspects into a home on Darrow before arresting Seals. The other suspect was released without charges, the Review reported.
