Evanston Man Charged with Trying to Sell Stolen Car Twice in 3 Days

An Evanston man was charged with three counts of burglary after police say he sold a stolen car, stole it back from the buyer and then tried to sell it again to undercover police, all while using altered or forged paperwork for the car, Chicago Tribune reported.

Eddie Simmons, 22, of the 2000 block of Dewey Avenue, found someone to buy the 2010 Toyota Camry via Craigslist on Wednesday, then sometime between Wednesday night and Thursday morning stole the car back using a GPS he attached to the car; and on Friday tried to sell the car again but this time to undercover police officers, the newspaper reported.
