Police Arrest Burglary Suspect With Dog Treats

Evanston police arrested Andre Peart and charged him with one count of felony for possession of burglary tools.

Evanston police arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with a burglary attempt in the 1000 block of Darrow Avenue Monday, according to a press release. 

Andre Peart, 20, of the 1300 block of Dewey Ave., was charged with felony for possession of burglary tools and is set to appear in Circuit Court of Cook County on April 16. 

Just before noon on March 25, Evanston police responded to a call of a suspicious person attempting to break into a home on Darrow Avenue. The initial caller was unable to remain on the scene but provided a detailed description of the suspect.

Police stopped a man fitting the description in the 1500 block of Greenleaf Avenue and later identified the man as Peart. 

Peart later admitted to his intentions to break into the home on Darrow Avenue and to carrying a hammer, a screwdriver, gloves and dog treats in a backpack, police said.
