Evanston Police Department Voted Best Dressed
The department protects and serves -- in style!
Evanston police have been patrolling in fashion, protecting while looking mighty stylish, according to the results of a recent contest.
The announced Friday that it had been chosen to be the recipient of the 2012 Best Dressed Award for Public Safety for a police department with less than 200 sworn officers.
“I think the department is very happy that we were recognized for the award," said Evanston police spokesperson Cmdr. Jay Parrott. "I think it shows that we take pride in our appearance and in our professional demeanor.”

The North American Association of Uniform Manufacturers and Distributors presented the department with the award after Evanston police submitted a photo showcasing the different uniforms worn by its various divisions and units.
Starting from the left, the photo shows Evanston officers wearing a short-sleeved patrol officer uniform, a motor officer uniform, a K-9 unit uniform, a bicycle officer uniform, a tactical gang and narcotics unit uniform (with an AR-15 rifle), an honor guard uniform, a long-sleeved patrol officer uniform and a dress uniform.
