Evanston Police Investigating Shooting at Elks Park Sunday

The 23-year-old victim is in critical condition.

Evanston police are investigating the shooting of a 23-year-old man Sunday night at Elks Park.

Police responded to a report of shots fired at about 8:50 p.m. in the 600 block of Mulford St., which is in the park, according to Cmdr. Jay Parrott. The victim, who is from Evanston, had been shot multiple times and was taken to Presence St. Francis Hospital. He is currently in critical but stable condition.

Detectives are investigating the motive for the shooting, Parrott said.
