A Northbrook mother, father and daughter have been charged with a multi-state “shopping odyssey” that involved a skirt that could hide stolen goods and resulted in more than $7 million in stolen merchandise that prosecutors say they then sold on eBay over the last decade.

A Des Plaines man was arrested in Libertyville for stealing two packages of fuses valued at $26.

And the Mother of the Year Award goes to...

Joliet police received a call from a bystander who spotted a 3-year-old girl in the road. Police learned that she had been left unattended in a vehicle and was able to get out of the car and wander into the street while her mother shopped in a clothing store. The girl was not injured.

A victim told police they approached a vehicle in Glenview to ask for directions. When they leaned into the vehicle’s window to talk to the driver, the male driver grabbed their hair. The victim pulled away from the driver and fell to the ground. As they fell to the ground the vehicle left the scene.

And now he gets a chance to feel it

A 21-year-old man was arrested in Plainfield after police say he locked his girlfriend and her mother in a bathroom.

"He [was holding] them basically captive in the bathroom, telling them he wanted them to feel what prison is like," police said.
