Man Asks to Borrow iPhone, Then Steals It

Favor results in theft
A woman that let an unknown person use her Apple iPhone would later report it stolen to police on March 21 around 8:30 a.m.
According to the report, an unknown offender approached a woman at Lake Street and Dodge Avenue and asked if he could use her cell phone. The woman complied, but the suspect fled with the woman's phone. The man was described as a black male, about 5-foot-7 and a 150-pounds, the report stated.

Business robbed
Police responded to a strong armed robbery at a store in the 300 block of Howard Street on March 17 around 6 p.m. According to the report, the offender entered the store, displayed a gun and demanded money from the safe. The culprit would later flee the scene with an unknown amount of cash, police said.

Domestic battery
An 81-year-old man was charged with domestic battery on March 20. The man was arrested in the 1600 block of Emerson Street.
Possession of cannabis
Antonio Deandre Scott, 21, of Skokie, was charged with possession of marijuana on March 19 around 4 p.m. Scott was arrested in the 2000 block of Dodge Avenue, police said.
