The manager of a Niles store said that a man removed 17 cases of Turbo Tax software from a display and exited the store without paying, police said. It was valued at $1359.93.

A 14-year-old Des Plaines boy told police he was home from school because he was feeling sick, when he saw a red pickup truck circle the block three times before pulling into his driveway.

Two men got out of the truck. One made his way toward the back door, while the other went to the front door and attempted to open it. The boy said he was looking out the front window in an attempt to write down the truck’s license plate number when the man at the front door saw him. Both men ran back to the truck and began drove away

A Skokie woman was arrested after she was allegedly seen taking the price tag off of a pair of Prada boots, putting them on and walking out of Nordstrom Rack in Northbrook.

Morton Grove Police were dispatched for a fight in progress. After investigating, officers determined that the subjects became involved in a heated argument over a game of pool. They claimed that no physical contact occurred.

A Chicago man was charged with felony identity theft, felony forgery and obstruction of justice when a security agent for a Niles store told police the man had just bought a 70-inch TV by applying for a credit card with a fraudulent driver's license, according to police.

Police responded to a theft at a Skokie car dealership. According to the report, an unknown suspect(s) entered the dealership and removed 31 spare tires from 31 vehicles by cutting the cable on the tire lift mechanism underneath each vehicle. The rims attached to the tires were also taken. The total loss exceeded $15,000, the report said.
