Four Men Hit Victim on Dodge; Romney Signs Stolen on Isabella

The following arrests and incidents were reported by the Evanston Police Department:

Arrests: DUI, Possession of Cannabis, Etc.

Charles Walker Altmaier, 59, of the 1400 block of Chicago Avenue in Evanston, was arrested and charged with trespassing at a chain business in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue at 5:31 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, police reported.

Sebastian A. Castro, 22, of the 300 block of Neva Avenue in Glenview was arrested and charged with driving under the influence in the 1200 block of Greenwood Street at 1:02 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, according to police. 

Steven C. Dykes, 25, of the 1800 block of Brown Avenue in Evanston, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis in the 1900 block of Grey Avenue at 3:58 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, police reported.

Jesse Dakota Greene, 18, of the 6300 block of North Lakewood Avenue in Chicago, was arrested and charged with criminal trespass to a vehicle at 12:46 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, in the 400 block of South Boulevard, according to police.

Michael DeQuincy Hughes, 29, of the 6500 block of South Lowe Avenue in Chicago, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, in the 1300 block of Dodge Avenue, according to police.

Daniel Z. Hurwitz, 19, of the 200 block of Sterling Place in Brooklyn, NY, was arrested and charged with possession of fraudulent identification in the 1500 block of Dewey Avenue at 1:10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, police reported.

William Harold McKinley, 38, of the 1300 block of West 112th Place in Chicago, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance in the 100 block of Chicago Avenue at 5:47 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, according to police.

Odain Dwayne Richards, 18, who told police he was homeless, was arrested and charged with theft at 5:47 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, in the 100 block of Chicago Avenue, according to police.

Demetrius L. Shavers, 30, of the 400 block of Custer Street in Evanston, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis at 2:18 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, in the 7500 block of Western Avenue, police reported. 

Richard S. Shavers, 39, of the 400 block of Custer Street in Evanston, was arrested and charged with obstructing justice at 2:18 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, in the 7500 block of Western Avenue, according to police. 

Devita Smith, 22, of the 1300 block of West 112th Place in Chicago, arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance in the 100 block of Chicago Avenue at 5:47 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, police reported. 

Four Men Hit Victim on Dodge

Four men struck someone in the face multiple times in the sidewalk in the 1800 block of Dodge Avenue at 2:55 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, police reported.

Man Pushed Victim On Dobson

A man pushed someone in the sidewalk at Dobson Street and Elmwood Avenue between 12:20 and 12:37 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, according to police. 

Cars Stolen on Chicago, Prospect

A man stole a silver, four-door 2006 Nissan Altima between 1 and 7:16 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at the intersection of Chicago Avenue and Keeney Street, police reported.

Someone stole a black 2004 Acura MDX SUV with the license plate number 6727028 from the 2600 block of Prospect Avenue between 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, and 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, according to police. 

Report of Shots Fired on Foster

Police investigated a report that someone had fired a gun around 9:35 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, at Foster Street and Grey Avenue, police reported. Nothing was found in the area. 

Burglaries on Park Place, Callan

A man and a woman entered a home in the 3000 block of Park Place through an unlocked window between 10:10 and 10:19 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, according to police. Nothing was reported missing.  

Someone slashed the window screen of an apartment in the 200 block of Callan Avenue between Oct. 2 and 7 and stole an Alesis Master Control Recording studio interface and controller, a Numark digital turntable, KRK speaker, SonicElectronic microphone and KRK head phones, according to police. 

Car Burglaries on Maple, Clark

Someone stole an Apple iPad from a pickup truck parked in an alley in the 1700 block of Maple Avenue at 6:15 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, according to police.

Someone stole an Illinois temporary license plate with the number 204P388 from a 1996 Acura parked at Clark Street and Sherman Avenue at 11 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, police reported.

Two men stole a Garmin GPS from an unlocked 2004 Honda in the 1500 block of Dewey Avenue at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, police reported. 

Bicycles Stolen on Sherman, Ridge

Someone stole a black Pinarello bicycle left unattended in the sidewalk in the 1700 block of Sherman Street between 9:08 and 9:13 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, according to police.

Someone stole a black and white men’s Trek hybrid mountain bike that was locked up in an apartment or condo common area in the 2100 block of Ridge Avenue between Sept. 15 and Oct. 6, according to police.

Cell Phone, Glasses Stolen in Park

Someone stole a black LG cell phone, prescription glasses and a brown metal holding case that were left unattended in a park in the 800 block of Sheridan Road at 7:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, according to police.

Romney Signs Stolen On Isabella

Someone stole Romney political signs from a yard in the 900 block of Isabella Street between 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, and 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, police reported.

Wallet Stolen From Locker

Someone stole a black leather wallet and its contents from a locked gym locker in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue at 9:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, according to police.

Prescription Sunglasses Stolen From Table

A woman stole Guess pink and black prescription glasses from a table at a business place in the 300 block of Howard Street between 11:30 and 11:55 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, police reported.

Vehicle Damaged on Maple

Someone damaged the right side mirror of a 2007 Chrysler parked in the 2000 block of Maple Avenue between 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, and 8:50 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, according to police.

Graffiti Found on Foster Street

Police found graffiti in a park in the 2200 block of Foster Street at 8:20 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, according to police.
