White Castle's new slogan: Our burgers are intoxicating

A Des Plaines man was pulled over in Niles after police said they saw him driving 50 mph in a 35 mph zone. When they stopped him, the officer could smell alcohol on his breath, according to the report. The driver said he had not had anything to drink, but had eaten a few burgers at White Castle. He showed impairment on field sobriety tests and was charged with DUI

Inmates everywhere now regret not having mom use the 'he's asleep' defense

A Niles man told police the solar-powered landscaping lights in front of his home were totally destroyed. Police went to the home of the suspect, a 29-year-old woman, but her mother told police she was sleeping and refused to wake her up. The mother told police the daughter is closely supervised and was not in the area of the landscaping lights.

'But officer, I was just keeping a masked intruder at bay.'

Northfield police responded to a call that someone was keeping a trapped raccoon. Officers told the resident to release the raccoon and warned him that catching wild animals was illegal.

Video game not as much fun when played in real life

A YouTube video shows a Chicago cab driver trying to block an SUV that rear ended him. The cab driver jumps in front of the SUV to get the driver to stop, but the SUV escapes and drives away, crashing into four other vehicles as it leaves. The SUV driver later crashed into the sidewalk and was arrested.

Whether it's criminal or not, just close the curtains

Deerfield police were led to a Red Roof Inn while tracking a suspect who was believed to be meeting a prostitute. While police were watching the room through a curtain that was not completely closed they saw a Deerfield woman engaged in what police said was an act of prostitution.
