Report of Gunfire On Asbury

Police investigated a report that two men had fired a gun in a yard in the 600 block of Asbury Avenue at 4:16 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8.

Burglar Steals Laptops on Foster

A man entered an unlocked home in the 1900 block of Foster Street and stole a black Toshiba laptop and white Apple laptop between 6 and 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, according to police.

Two Attempted Burglaries On Case

A man pushed the rear window screen up in an attempted burglary in the 800 block of Case Street around 2:32 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, police reported. 

Someone pushed the kitchen window partially open at a home in the 700 block of Case Street in an attempted burglary around 2:40 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, according to police.

Wallet Stolen From Hospital

A man stole debit cards, CTA cards, $120 in cash and a wallet from an unlocked hospital room in the 2600 block of Ridge Avenue between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, police reported. 

Arrests: Retail Theft, Possession of Cannabis

Francisco J. Erazo Brito, 48, of the 7500 block of North Sheridan Road in Chicago, was arrested and charged with retail theft after he allegedly stole food from a grocery store in the 2400 block of Main Street at 4:10 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, according to police.

Theodore M. Gatti, 27, of the 600 block of Sheridan Road in Evanston, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis at 1:40 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, police reported.
