Police investigated a report that someone had fired a gun in the 200 block of Brown Avenue at 12:10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 17. Nothing was found in the area.

Attempted Burglary on Brummel
Police say someone opened the window of a home in the 1900 block of Brummel Street between 8:15 and 11:10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, in an attempted burglary.

Auto Thief Takes Busted Minivan
Someone stole a 2004 green Nissan minivan from an auto shop in the 1300 block of Chicago Avenue at 5:56 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, according to police. The vehicle has the license plate N139631 and has damaged front and passenger windows as well as a damaged driver’s side headlight.
Man Charged With Domestic Battery
A man was arrested and charged with domestic battery at 7:55 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15, police reported.
Burglar Steals Keys From Car
Someone stole the keys to a 1995 Toyota from the unlocked door between 8 and 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, in the 1800 block of Laurel Avenue, according to police.
Thieves Steals Packages From Apartment
Two men stole packages from the lobby area of an apartment or condo complex in the 800 block of Hinman Avenue between 6:59 and 7:10 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, according to police. Stolen items included black combat boots from Zappos, black high heels from Zappos and a purse from Nordstrom.
Man Steals Tip Jar On Main Street
Someone stole a tip container from the counter of a restaurant in the 500 block of Main Street between 6:40 and 6:52 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, police reported.
Pearl Jewelry Stolen From Bedroom
Someone stole a Mikimoto pearl necklace with a broken clasp and Mikimoto pearl earrings from the bedroom of a home in the 1500 block of McDaniel Avenue between Dec. 16 and Jan. 16, according to police.
Wallet Stolen From Locker On Grove
Someone stole a black leather bifold wallet with its contents from a locker in a locker room in the 1000 block of Grove Street between 6:20 and 7:10 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, according to police.
Prepaid Cell Phone Stolen in Park
Someone stole a silver prepaid Samsung cell phone and Apple iPad that were left unattended in a park in the 1100 block of Lincoln Avenue between 12:01 and 12:03 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, police reported.
