Gunfire Reported On Gross Point Road

Police investigated a report that someone had fired a gun in the 2700 block of Gross Point Road at 9:27 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11. Nothing was found in the area.

Two Men Charged With DUI

Brian J. Hillebrand, 48, of the 9500 block of Harding in Evanston, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence at 4:44 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, in the 1700 block of Grey Avenue, police reported.

Jared Chandler Lester-Childs, 26, of the 700 block of Grey Avenue in Evanston, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence at 11:06 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, at the intersection of Davis Street and Dewey Avenue, according to police.

Attempted Burglary On Dobson Street

Someone damaged the basement door of a home during an attempted burglary in the 1000 block of Dobson Street between Dec. 25 and Jan. 12, police reported. 

Laptops, Cash Stolen In Car Burglaries

Someone damaged the rear driver’s side window of a 2002 Nissan parked in the 900 block of Chicago Avenue and stole a black Dell laptop computer between 9:16 and 9:46 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, police reported. 

Someone stole cash and a cup holder from an unlocked car in the 400 block of Grove Street between 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, and 9 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, according to police.

Someone stole an Apple laptop computer and Olympus camera from a 2004 Audi left with an open passenger window in the 1700 block of Sheridan Road between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, according to police.

Someone stole a Garmin GPS from an unlocked 2010 Dodge parked in a driveway in the 1800 block of Brown Avenue between 12 and 12:08 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, according to police.

Man Steals Phone From Apartment

A man stole a Blackberry TMobile cell phone from an apartment in the 800 block of Seward Street between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, police reported.

Bikes Stolen From Storage Lockers

Someone cut the lock off a storage locker and stole a red Diamondback bicycle, gold Realm bicycle, two bicycle helmets and two bike locks from a residence in the 1200 block of Oak Avenue between 1 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, and 2:12 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, according to police.

During the same time period, someone also cut the lock off another storage locker in the 1200 block of Oak Avenue and stole a purple Legato GT bicycle, police reported.

Wallet Stolen From Diaper Bag

Someone stole  a black men’s leather wallet with its contents from a diaper bag in the Evanston Public Library between 4 and 4:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, police reported. 

Thieves Steal Cash From Coat Pocket

A man and a woman stole cash from the pocket of a coat in a department store in the 2400 block of Main Street between 1 and 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, according to police.

Metal Racks Stolen From Grocery Store

Two men stole four metal racks from behind a grocery store in the 2400 block of Main Street at 1:52 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, police reported.

Car Gets Egged On Gross Point

Someone threw eggs at a 2006 Honda in the 2700 block of Gross Point Road around 8:19 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, according to police.

Criminal Damage on Case, Mulford

Someone damaged the glass window of an apartment in the 800 block of Case Street between 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, and 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, according to police.

Someone damaged the front passenger, rear hatch and rear driver’s side windows of a 2003 Ford parked in the 700 block of Mulford Street at 9:46 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, according to police.

Graffiti Found On CTA Station

Graffiti appeared on the CTA station at the intersection of Lincoln Street and Ridge Avenue sometime before 11:15 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, police reported.
