UPDATED: Handgun Shown in Downtown Jewelry Store Robbery

Police are currently looking for a suspect.

Police are currently looking for a man who flashed a gun during a jewelry store robbery that occurred at around 11:15 a.m. Tuesday.

The suspect entered Diadem Jewelers, located on the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue, displayed a handgun and announced the robbery, according to the EPD. He then used plastic bindings to secure the store owner's hands.

He emptied the jewelry from display cases into a gym bag and backpack and left the store through the back entrance, police said. A passerby later looked into the store and saw the owner tied up and called police.
