Hearing Impaired Man Robbed in Evanston

The victim was found near Howard Street.

Evanston police are looking for two men in connection with a robbery that put a hearing impaired man in the hospital.

Police say the victim was walking on the sidewalk near 555 Howard Street at 5:20 a.m. on Sept. 2, when two men approached him and one struck him in the head. The men robbed him, removing items from his pants pockets.

The victim was taken to St. Francis Hospital for treatment.

Police say one suspect is a heavyset black man in his 20s who was wearing a white t-shirt at the time of the incident. The other is a thin black man, also in his 20s, who was wearing a red shirt and navy blue ball cap.

Anyone with information on the incident should contact the Evanston Police Detective Bureau at (847)866-5040. Information regarding this robbery can also be sent via text by texting from a  cellular phone EPDTIP and the information to “274637”. All texting tips will remain anonymous.
