Hit-and-Run Driver Strikes Bicyclist, Scooter, Cars

The bicyclist is in critical condition after police say a 63-year-old woman caused the multiple collisions.

A 63-year-old woman from Wilmette drove into two cars, a woman on a scooter and a bicyclist Sunday morning, critically injuring the biker, according to an article in Evanston Now.

The driver, who was not identified, will likely face charges, police told Evanston Now. The string of collisions started when the driver hit a car at Davis and Ridge, then hit another car at Keeney and Chicago, a motor scooter at 635 Chicago and a bicyclist at Custer and Main.

Thanks for your questions. Police generally don't release names (and definitely not mug shots) unless a person has been charged. If she is charged, we will add that information.

Emily, is there any info about intoxication and/or medical condition? Three separate accidents sounds like someone totally out of control.

There is a lot more info about the woman and the incident in this article: http://abclocal.go.com/wls/story?section=news/local&id=9493971. Also, the ABC News article says the cyclist had only MINOR INJURIES, but the Patch article says the cyclist is in CRITICAL CONDITION. Which is it, and why are the articles so discrepant?
