Man Charged After Evanston Man Robbed on Red Line

The victim offered the alleged robbers $30 to get his iPod back, and said they then stole the money as well.

A 35-year-old man from Evanston was robbed of an iPod and $30 on the L earlier this summer, and one 18-year-old from Chicago has now been charged in connection with the robbery.

The Chicago Tribune reports that the man was robbed on the Red Line near the Clark/Division stop, and tried to negotiate with the four men who robbed him by offering them $30 for the iPod.

"But when he pulled the money out his wallet, one of the men punched him in the head and fled with the money," the Tribune reported.
