Man Dies in Mid-Morning Shooting on McCormick

The shooting occurred just before 10 a.m. at McCormick and Oakton in Skokie.

A motorcyclist shot and killed a man mid-morning Tuesday at McCormick Boulevard and Oakton Street, according to Skokie police.

The shooter, described as a male dressed in black and riding a maroon motorcycle, shot the victim, who was in the passenger seat of a vehicle, around 9:50 a.m., police said.

The victim, whose name and other identifying information has not been released, was driven to Presence Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, where he died from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Police said the shooting is not considered random. The investigation is ongoing.
