What am I missing? As far as I know, there are no restaurants in the 1800 block of Church Street...so where was the gun shown?
Jennifer Fisher (Editor) December 12, 2012 at 05:56 pm
Good question, Christine, I'll see if I can find out.
Jennifer Fisher (Editor) December 12, 2012 at 06:11 pm
Christine, I checked with the police department and the incident actually took place in the alley behind BooCoo--the blotter was a little confusing. We sincerely regret the error.
M. Collins January 6, 2013 at 06:47 pm
The comment about a theft of cigarettes at a grocery store and the theft later that day at the same grocery store are not connected please check your sources and correct thus error.
Jennifer Fisher (Editor) January 7, 2013 at 02:35 pm
Hi, M. Collins. Based on the police report I looked at (http://www.cityofevanston.org/departments/police/reports/archive/2012/12_December/Dec10-12dr.pdf), police initially charged these two individuals with instances of retail theft. I've edited the blotter to reflect simply the charges, however.

The writer of the post is illiterate....that is clear. The Evanston Police, in general, do a greatRead More job in this community. There ought be a new category created specifically for membership in a gang that has demonstrated committed acts of violence...it goes back to the first smart thing which Mark Kirk ever said which was locking up each and every one of the 18.5K members of the Gangster Disciples. The second thing that can be done is that each and every law abiding Evanston resident that is legally able to do so should avail themselves of the right to obtain a new Illinois Concealed Carry Permit for a handgun. An armed society is a polite society.
