The following arrests and incidents were reported by the Evanston Police Department:

Man Hears Burglar While in the Shower

A man heard someone in his apartment while he was in the shower at 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, in the 1900 block of Sherman Avenue. He reported that various credit cards and his driver’s license were missing when he got out.  

Arrests: Aggravated Battery, Possession of Cannabis, Etc.

Mohammad I. Amara, 23, of the 1400 block of North Wood in Griffith, was arrested and charged with retail theft at 11:45 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23, police reported.

Edward D. Carter, 21, of the 700 block of Dobson Street in Evanston, was arrested and charged with obstructing justice at 3:06 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, in the 1900 block of Foster Street, according to police. 

Jordan O’Neal Johnson, 20, of the 1500 block of Pitner in Evanston, was arrested and charged with assault at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, in the 1700 block of Benson Avenue, police reported.

Joseph D. Johnson, 28, of the 1700 block of West Albion in Chicago, was arrested and charged with battery at 8:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, at the police station, according to police.

Layton Jones, of the 2400 block of Church Street in Evanston, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis at 5:55 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23, at his home, police reported.

Sonia Mandujano-Rico, 25, of the 1300 block of Dodge Avenue in Evanston, was arrested and charged with violating an order of protection at her home on Friday, Aug. 23, according to police.

Osmar Perez, 21, of the 300 block of East New York Street in Aurora, was arrested and charged with battery at 9:35 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, in the 400 block of Custer, according to police. 

Prentice Floyd Phillips, 48, of the 1400 block of Chicago Avenue in Evanston, was arrested and charged with aggravated battery at 11:38 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, in the 1100 block of Emerson Street, police reported. 

Robert Lee Spotsville, 64, of the 1900 block of Asbury Avenue in Evanston, was arrested and charged with battery at 1:25 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, in the 1900 block of Green Bay Road, according to police.

Laptop, Bicycle, Cell Phone Stolen On South

A thief stole a 14-inch MacBook laptop computer, a black Dunelt bicycle with green wheels and a Samsung phone with a  keyboard that slides out from a home in the 200 block of South Boulevard between 11 and 11:55 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, police reported. 

Burglar Steals Bikes From Garage

Someone stole a white Trek men’s bicycle and black Motobecane men’s mountain bike from an unlocked garage in the 700 block of Case Street between 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, and 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, according to police. 

Pickpocket Swipes Wallet From Fanny Pack

A pickpocket stole a wallet from someone’s fanny pack at a restaurant in the 500 block of Main Street between 3 and 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, according to police. 

Car Burglar Steals Dolce & Gabbana Purse

Someone stole a large white Dolce & Gabbana purse from a 2000 Ford parked in the 2200 block of Oakton Street between 4:30 and 5 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23, police reported.

Woman Steals Cash From the Backseat

A woman stole cash from a purse in the back seat of a car in the 1700 block of Orrington Avenue between 12:30 and 12:45 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, according to police.

Car Burglar Breaks Window, Steals Wallet

Someone broke the window of a 2000 Lexus parked in the 100 block of Clyde and stole a wallet between 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, and 5 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, according to police. 

Theft: American Apparel Shorts, Cash, Folding Bike

A woman stole American Apparel blue jean shorts from a business in the 900 block of Church Street at 7:16 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, police reported. 

Someone stole cash from an unlocked gym locker in the 1000 block of Grove Street between 1:50 and 2:15 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, according to police.

Someone stole an ivory and brown Citizen folding bike with small wheels that was locked in an apartment or condo common area in the 1500 block of Maple Avenue between 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, and 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, police reported.

Someone stole a 26-inch Specialized men’s bicycle with silver lettering that was locked to a bike rack at Evanston Township High School between 8 and 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, police reported. 

Someone stole a white, 26-inch Giant men’s mountain bicycle that was left unlocked in the 2600 block of Lawndale Avenue at 11 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, according to police. 

License Plate Swiped On Sherman

Someone stole a license plate from a car in the 1900 block of Sherman Avenue at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, according to police. 

Car Mirror Damaged on Hovland

Someone damaged the mirror of a car parked in a driveway in the 1700 block of Hovland Court at 10:27 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, police reported.

Graffiti Appears On Sheridan

Graffiti appeared in a park in the 2600 block of Sheridan Road between 10 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, and 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23, according to police.
