Arrests: Drug Possession, Battery

Benjamin Franklin Brown, 54, of the 1900 block of Emerson Street, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance at 9:14 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, in the 1700 block of Brown Avenue, according to police. 

Quincy Terrel Daugherty, 29, of the 1100 block of Oak Avenue, was arrested and charged with battery in the 1400 block of Chicago Avenue at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, police reported.

A 25-year-old Evanston man was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic battery at 8:40 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, according to police. 

A 19-year-old Evanston man was arrested and charged with domestic battery at 3:20 a.m. Monday, Sept. 17, according to police.

A 53-year-old Evanston man was arrested and charged with domestic battery at 10:10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, according to police. 

Joshua P. Segovia, 30, of the 400 block of West Surf Street in Chicago, was arrested and charged with a criminal offense in the 1500 block of Elmwood Avenue at 3:47 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, police reported. 

Man With a Gun Reported at Dodge and Church

Police investigated a report that someone had a gun at 4 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29, at the intersection of Dodge Avenue and Church Street. 

Man Throws Bottle at Woman

An unknown man threw a bottle at a woman and approached her “in an aggressive manner” in the 600 block of South Boulevard at 9:08 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, according to police. 

Homes Burglarized on Garnett

Someone stole a MacBook laptop with a 13-inch screen from an unlocked home in the 1000 block of Garnett Place between 3:30 and 5:15 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, according to police. 

Someone stole a Sony Playstation 3 with controller from an unlocked apartment in the 1100 block of Garnett Place between 2 and 9 a.m.  Thursday, Sept. 27, police reported. 

Bikes Stolen on Howard

Someone stole a 26-inch pink women’s Schwinn bicycle that was locked to a tree in the 2000 block of Howard Street between 3 and 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, police reported. 

Someone stole a red Trek bicycle that was left unlocked in the stairwell of an apartment in the 800 block of Main Street between 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, and 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29, according to police. 

Someone stole a 26-inch, 18-speed men’s Power Climb bicycle that was locked to a bike storage rack in the 600 block of Lake Street between 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, and 12:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, according to police. 

A man stole a bike a woman had left on the sidewalk while she was at a garage sale in the 200 block of Custer Street at 3:48 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, police reported. 

Cars Burglarized on Kedzie, Hinman

Someone entered a 2008 Subaru parked in an apartment parking lot in the 500 block of Kedzie Street through the front passenger window and stole cash between 10 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, and 8 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, police reported.

Someone broke the driver’s side window of a 2009 Scion parked in an apartment lt in the 500 block of Kedzie Street and stole a GPS unit between 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, and 8 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, according to police. 

Someone ransacked the interior of a 2008 Honda parked in the 900 block of Hinman Avenue and stole a car tool kit, AV adaptor cord and canvas bag containing jumper cables between 8:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, and 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, police reported. 

Someone stole a Garmin GPS from an unlocked 2004 Lexus parked in a driveway in the 2700 block of Woodbine Avenue between 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, and 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, according to police. 

Wallets Stolen at Currency Exchange, On Campus

Someone stole a wallet with its contents from a purse at a currency exchange in the 1800 block of Dempster Street between 11:37 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, and 12:22 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, according to police. 

A man stole a wallet from a purse on campus in the 1800 block of Sheridan Road between 9 and 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, police reported. 

Thieves Steal Prilosec, Compressed Air From Pharmacies

Two men stole boxes of Prilosec from a pharmacy in the 3300 block of Central Street around 10:25 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, according to police. 

A man stole a can of Falcon dust-off compressed air from a pharmacy in the 100 block of Asbury Avenue at 3:05 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, police reported. 

Thief Swipes Fed-Ex Package

Someone stole a 3-foot-by-3-inch brown box delivered by FedEx that contained paintings from the lobby of an apartment or condo in the 2200 block of Ridge Avenue between 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, and 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, police reported. 

Man Punches Through Bus Window

Someone punched the window of a bus at McDaniel Avenue and Dempster Street around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday Sept. 26, causing it to shatter, police reported. 

Criminal Damage to Vehicles

Someone broke the passenger window of a 2012 Honda parked in the 500 block of Kedzie Street between 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, and 8 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, according to police. Nothing was reported missing.

Someone broke the rear window of a 1997 Plymouth parked in the 3200 block of Harrison Street between 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, and 6 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, according to police. 

Someone cracked the windshield of a 1993 Volkswagen parked in the 200 block of Callan Avenue at 5:13 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, according to police. 

A woman used a cement block to shatter all the windows of a 1993 Dodge parked in the 1100 block of Hull Terrace around 10:40 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, according to police. 

Graffiti Found on Garage

Graffiti appeared on a residential garage in the 1100 block of Madison Street between 11:40 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, and 12:12 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, according to police.
