Man Robbed at Gunpoint at Foster and Orrington

Evanston police are searching for two suspects in an armed robbery that took place near Northwestern University around 1:55 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18.

A man was robbed at gunpoint around 1:55 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at the intersection of Foster Street and Orrington Avenue, according to police.

The victim was walking north on Orrington when he saw two men across the street. One crossed the street to approach the victim, while the other remained on the other side, police reported.

The man who crossed the street pulled out a black handgun when he came close, then stole $20 in cash, credit cards, ID cards and the victim's cell phone, according to police. He and the other man ran away on foot.

The suspect who approached the victim is described as a black man who is approximately 30 years old, between 5'10 and 6'0 in height and who was wearing a black hooded sweater and a red scarf over his face, according to police.
