Man Shot on Dodge Tuesday Afternoon

The victim has shot in the leg and is expected to recover.

Evanston police are investigating a second shooting in less than 24 hours, this time in the 2000 block of Dodge Avenue.

Police received a call for shots fired just before 1 p.m., the department said. The victim was hit in the leg and taken to NorthShore Evanston Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives shut down Dodge between Foster and Simpson streets to investigate. No one was in custody as of Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Police are also investigating a non-fatal shooting Monday evening in the 1700 block of Payne Street.

Police are asking anyone with information about either shooting to call the detective bureau at 847-866-5040 or use the anonymous text-a-tip program by texting to CRIMES (274637) with EPD TIP in the message line followed by the tip information.
