Man Steals Carton of Newports From Pharmacy Chain

Theft at religious institution

Police responded to a theft at a "religious institution" in the 500 block of Chicago Avenue on March 15. According to the report, a purse, along with its contents, were stolen.

Shattered glass

An unknown person threw a brick at a window  in the 500 block of Greenwood Avenue on March 17.

There was another report of a brick being thrown at window, but this time in the 1100 block of Church Street on March 17.

Retail theft

A cell phone display unit was reported stolen from a store in the 1600 block of Chicago Avenue on March 16.

Stolen phone

An Apple iPhone and cash were reported stolen from a person's coat at a gym in the 1000 block of Grove Street on March 16.

An Apple iPhone was reported stolen from a gym locker in the 1200 block of Chicago Avenue on March 15.

Stolen bike

A bicycle was reported stolen from an alley in the 1200 block of Chicago Avenue on March 15. The bike was valued at under $500, the report stated.

Theft

A bracelet valued at under $500 was reported stolen from a home in the 2500 block of Jackson Avenue on March 14.

Smokes stolen

A business in the 1700 block of Sherman Avenue reported that an offender stole a carton of Newport Cigarettes on March 6 around 10:40 a.m. The value of the item is about $90. 

The suspect was described as a black male, about 5-foot-9 and a 170-pounds, according to the report.

Theft

Two pair of shoes were reported stolen from an apartment common area in the 100 block of Clyde Avenue on March 15.

DUI

Daniel Terrence Ford, 59, of Evanston, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on March 18 around 8 p.m. He was arrested in the 500 block of Lee Street, the report stated.

Possession of drug paraphernalia

Edgar Hernandez, 26, of Evanston, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia on March 16. Hernandez was arrested in the 200 block of Wesley Avenue around 2:40 a.m.

Identity theft

Laura White, 26, of Chicago, was charged with identity theft on March 14. White was arrested in the 2300 block of Howard Street around 2:48 p.m. No further details were provided.
