Man Tries to Steal Pit Bull on Florence

The following arrests and incidents were reported by Evanston Police:

Man Tries to Take Dog on Florence
A resident of the 1100 block of Florence Avenue reported that a known offender tried unsuccessfully to take his pit bull at 11:04 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4, according to police. 

Teen Duo Charged With Retail Theft
Two people were arrested after they tried to steal jewelry, Hanes t-shirts, a pregnancy test and cosmetics from a pharmacy in the 100 block of Asbury Avenue between 2:09 and 3:23 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4, according to police.

Tarek J. Rahman, 18, of the 5700 block of North Bernard in Chicago, and Leyla A. Sada, 18, of the 2600 block of West Farragut in Chicago, were arrested in the 5600 block of North Clark and charged with retail theft, police said.

Evanston Man Charged With Battery
Edward D. Carter, 21, of the 700 block of Dobson in Evanston, was arrested and charged with battery at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4, at the police station, according to police. 

Burglar Steals Jewelry on Oakton
Someone stole jewelry from a home in the 1400 block of Oakton Street between 6 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, and 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, police reported.

Car Burglar Takes Stereo System
Someone forced entry into a 1997 Chrysler parked in an alley in the 800 block of Main Street and stole a Pioneer stereo system between 11 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, and 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4, according to police.

Cell Phone Stolen at Athletic Club
Someone stole an Apple cell phone in a black case that was left unattended at an athletic club in the 1000 block of Grove Street around 8 p.m. Monday, Nov 4, police reported.
