Man Who Died at Sherman Plaza Attended Northwestern
Caleb Dayton, 22, died in an apparent suicide Tuesday.
The Evanston man who died after he jumped from the Sherman Plaza parking garage downtown has been identified as a former Northwestern student from Minnesota, according to the Daily Northwestern.
Caleb Dayton, 22, took classes in the School of Continuing Studies last year, but did not enroll at the university this fall, the Northwestern reports.
Evanston police responded to a call that someone had jumped from the public garage at Davis Street and Benson Avenue around 4:20 p.m. Tuesday, according to Evanston Police Cmdr. Jason Parrott. Dayton was transported to Evanston Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The incident is being investigated as a suicide, according to police.
