NU Student Evades 3 Would-Be Robbers

A Northwestern University student avoided a robbery attempt when he told the three would-be thieves that they were in front of the campus police station.

A Northwestern University student avoided a potential robbery on Sunday when he warned his would-be robbers that they were in front of the campus police station, according to the Evanston Review.

Three men confronted the student in the 1800 block of Hinman Avenue and demanded his money, saying "Empty your pockets or we'll shoot you," the Review reports. The student told the men that it might not be the best idea to rob him, however, given their proximity to Northwestern's police outpost.

The three men then ran away, and the student could not identify them to police, according to the Review. Evanston Police are currently investigating the incident; anyone with any information is asked to contact the police at (847) 866-5000.
