A police officer observed a car without its headlights on driving in Niles in the early morning. The driver, a 21-year-old woman from Chicago, then turned the headlights on and followed the squad car at an unsafe distance, police said. The driver then passed the police car while breaking the lane lines into opposing traffic, according to the report. Police said the driver showed impairment on field sobriety tests and had an odor of alcohol on her breath and was charged with DUI.
