Pedestrian Struck By Vehicle in Skokie

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and transported to an area hospital Tuesday, April 2, at around 3 p.m., according to police

Update 8:38 p.m. ~

A 56-year-old Skokie man was struck by a vehicle that was heading eastbound on Main Street at approximately 3:30 p.m., police officials said. No names are being released at this time. 

According to police, the accident involved one vehicle and the pedestrian. It is unclear if drugs, speeding or alcohol played a role in the crash.

The injured person was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston to treat "serious" injuries. The extent of the injuries are unknown at this time.

The driver was uninjured following the accident, officials said.

Update 4:23 p.m. ~ 

Police say a male adult was struck by a vehicle heading eastbound on Main Street. Whether the vehicle was making a right turn from Skokie Boulevard or simply heading east on Main Street is unclear at this time.

Police are investigating an accident that occurred near the intersection of Main Street and Skokie Boulevard. The accident happened today at around 3 p.m.

According to police officials, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle near the intersection and transported to an area hospital. Details are limited, and the severity of the injury - or if anyone else was injured - is not available at this time.

Police and fire officials were still on scene a little past 4 p.m. No further information is available at this time. Once new details come in Patch will update.
