Pedestrian Struck, Killed by Auto in Skokie

A Skokie resident was pronounced dead following an accident at Main Street and Skokie Boulevard on Tuesday. He has been identified as Alan Rubin, 57.

The 57-year-old man that was struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Main Street and Skokie Boulevard in Skokie died on Wednesday, the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office said today.

The man has been identified as Alan Rubin, of Skokie.  

A vehicle heading eastbound on Main Street struck Rubin on Tuesday at approximately 3:30 p.m., police said.

He was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston to treat injuries. Rubin was pronounced dead at 5:30 p.m. the following day, the medical examiner’s office said.

It is unclear if drugs, speeding or alcohol played a role in the crash at this time.
