Authorities Identify Man, 45, Killed by Train

The incident happened just south of Main Street around 1 a.m. Saturday.

The man who was struck by the Metra train has been identified by Atrail White, 45, according to a representative from the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

She said White was struck by a train in the 300 block of Callan Avenue and pronounced dead at 1:40 a.m. Sunday. Authorities do not know where he lived.

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Metra train around 1 a.m. Sunday, according to officials.

The man was hit by train number 301, just south of Main Street, according to Metra spokesperson Mike Gillis. He died on the scene, Gillis said.

Evanston police Cmdr. Jason Parrott confirmed that a man had been struck by a train, but said police did not have more information as of 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

A representative of the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said the agency had not made been able to contact with the man's family as of late Sunday evening.
