Person Struck in Face in 900 Block of Maple

Burglary

Police responded to a burglary in the 700 block of Asbury Avenue on May 8. According to the report, a garage door was opened, but no items were missing.

A laptop and Sony Playstation were reported stolen from a home in the 1300 block of Brummel Street on May 10.

Weapon displayed

Police responded to an aggravated assault in the 900 block of Chicago Avenue on May 12 around 12:30 a.m. According to the report, two subjects displayed a weapon at a victim. 

No further information was provided. 

Battery

A person was struck in the face in the 900 block of Maple Avenue on May 11 around 3 a.m. 

Burglary

A GPS unit, cash and USB device were reported stolen from a garage in the 500 block of Ridge Avenue on May 8.

Vehicle vandalism

All four windows of a parked vehicle were busted in the 900 block of Chicago Avenue on May 12.

Tools stolen

A tool box, rims and tires were reported stolen from a garage in the 1000 block of Dewey on May 12.

Booze stolen

A bottle of alcohol was reported stolen from a grocery story in the 1900 block of Dempster Street on May 9.

Stolen bike

A bicycle valued at more than $500 was reported stolen from a residential yard in the 2300 block of Brown Avenue on May 2.

A bike valued at more than $500 was reported stolen from a bike rack in the 1800 block of Central Street on May 9. The bicycle was secured, the report stated.

Retail theft

Nereida Carr, 75, of Evanston, was charged with two counts of retail theft on May 11. The offender was arrested in the 1900 block of Dempster Street around 6 p.m., police said.
