Police: Armed Robbers Stole Pizza, Cash

Police are searching for suspects in two of three robberies that took place in Evanston between Saturday, Sept. 8, and Sunday, Sept. 9. Robbers had a handgun in one incident and a knife in another.

Evanston police are searching for suspects in two of three armed robberies that took place this weekend, one involving stolen pizza. 

On Saturday, Sept. 8, a Sarpino’s Pizzeria driver was making a delivery in the 800 block of Dobson Street when two male teenagers came up to him, according to police. One threatened him with a knife, while the other shoved him. The teens took $23 worth of pizza, then ran away.  

The following day, Evanston police responded to the 700 block of Florence Avenue at 7:15 p.m. after a 9-11 caller reported an armed robbery. A 28-year-old woman, A 28-year-old man and their 8-year-old daughter had just parked their vehicle and were walking down the street when two offenders approached them, one with a handgun. The robbers stole a purse and $200 in cash before running away on foot.

Police in connection with a third robbery that took place on Sunday, Sept. 9. In that incident, the robbery allegedly stole an iPhone from a 22-year-old woman near the Davis Street CTA station.
