Police Arrest Alleged Drug Dealer With $4,800 In Cash

Evanston police executed a search warrant on a Foster Street Home and arrested a 21-year-old man on charges of possession of controlled substances with intent to deliver.

Evanston police arrested a 21-year-old suspected drug dealer Monday after they executed a search warrant and found cocaine, marijuana, ecstacy and thousands of dollars in cash in his Foster Street home. 

Officers arrived at the residence of Myung Jun Kim around 9:45 a.m. to execute a search warrant, according to a press release from the Evanston Police Department. Inside, they found 8.6 grams of cocaine, 48.5 grams of cannabis, 3.5 grams of Ecstasy powder, 21 Ecstasy pills. They also recovered some $4,832 in cash, according to police.

Kim was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, three counts of possession of a controlled substance, one count of possession of cannabis with intent to deliver and one count of possession of cannabis. All counts are felony charges, police reported.

Kim is scheduled to appear in Cook County Circuit Court in Skokie at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22.
