Police Blotter April 8: Shoplifter Arrested at Dominick's; Computer Stolen from Office

A recap of crimes committed in Evanston.

The following items are taken from the Evanston Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

 

Theft

Darnell D. Eason, 60, of Evanston was arrested and charged with retail theft at 9:15 p.m. on April 6 at Dominick's on the 1900 block of Dempster Street. His court date is set for April 18.

A silver MacBook Pro laptop computer, and an Apple iPhone 4 were stolen from an unlocked office at 10:10 a.m. on April 7 on the 1500 block of Sherman Avenue. The thief was described as a black man about 5-foot-11, 170 pounds in his 30s.

A man entered a business through an unlocked door and stole a green coat at 12:38 p.m. on April 7 on the 300 block of Howard Avenue. The thief was described as a black man about 5-foot-10 and 160 pounds.

A black mountain bike was found stolen from a lamp post at 6 p.m. on April 7 on the 600 block of Main Street.

A 28-inch men's blue Conquest bicycle was stolen from a bike rack on April 6 on the 1100 block of Davis Street.

A man tried to steal a bicycle from a backyard on the 1100 block of Davis Street at 12:04 a.m. on April 7 on the 1100 block of Davis Street. The would-be thief was described as a white man about 6-foot tall, 160 pounds and about 30 years old.

A 16-year-old Evanston resident was arrested and charged with retail theft at 10:10 p.m. on April 6 at Dominick's on the 1900 block of Dempster Street.

 

Trespassing

Bobbie A. Clark, 44, of Evanston was arrested and charged with trespassing in a vehicle at 9:23 a.m. on April 6 on the 2000 block of Dempster Street. His court date is set for May 5.

 

Vandalism

Someone broke into a garage on the 700 block of Milburn Avenue and egged a 2008 BMW between 10 p.m. on April 6 and 7:37 a.m. on April 7.

 

Possession of Marijuana

Tyrone I. Williamson, 18, of Skokie was arrested and charged with marijuana possession at 1:37 a.m. on April 7 on the 1400 block of Howard Street. His court date is set for April 25.

 

Driving without a License

Yolanda A. Banks, 39, of Evanston was arrested and charged with driving without a license at 3:22 p.m. on April 6 on the 1700 block of Brown Avenue. Her court date is set for June 8.

Quentin Oliver, 26, of Evanston was arrested and charged with driving without a license at 6:20 p.m. on April 7 on the 1700 block of Hovland Court. His court date is set for April 25.

Joselito Tierrablance-Sierra, 28, of Chicago was arrested and charged with driving without a license at 6:49 p.m. on the 2600 block of Central Street. Her court date is set for May 17.
