Police Blotter: Armed Robbery, Bus Slapping

Evanston police reports for February 3 and February 4. Where arrests are included, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following arrests and incidents were reported by the Evanston Police Department:

Garage Dents

Nine dents with blue markings were found on a garage in the 900 block of Grey Avenue. The damage occurred in the overnight hours of Feb. 3.

Slapped on Bus

Someone got slapped on a bus at Custer and Monroe around 3:40 p.m. on Feb. 3. The victim could not provide a description of the phantom slapper.

Big Feet

Thieves stole items from an unlocked car parked in the 1800 block of Ridge Avenue around 1 p.m. Feb. 3. A GPS, cell phone, and gym bag containing clothing and size 10 ½ Air Jordans and other athletic equipment were taken.

Slashed Tires

Unknown vandals damaged a car parked in the lot of an apartment building in the 2000 block of Sherman Avenue between 7:15 and 8 p.m. Feb. 3. Two slashed tires and a broken side mirror were reported.

‘Mutt and Jeff’

Two males held up a victim at gunpoint in the 300 block of Callan shortly after midnight on Feb. 4. One robber is described as 5-foot-9; the other is 5-foot-5. The pair got  away with the victim’s cell phone.

Un-breakin

Crooks helped themselves to cash from unlocked car parked in the 1100 block of Harvard Terrace during the overnight hours of Jan. 29.

DUI

Kurt Mohead, 28, of the 6500 block of South Perry Avenue in Chicago, was charged with DUI. Mohead was arrested in the 400 block of Ridge Avenue around 12:45 a.m. Feb. 3. He is to appear in court on March 4 in Skokie.
