Police Blotter Dec. 15: Men in Toyota Pull Gun on Passing Car; Steelers Fan Steals Booze

The following arrest information was supplied by the Evanston Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The following items are taken from the Evanston Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

 

Assault

A Chicago man was riding in a car near the intersection of Darrow Avenue and Emerson Street when a 1996 Toyota pulled up beside him and two men allegedly flashed a revolver at him. Police chased down the other vehicle and arrested Dante A. Blackwell, 19, of Evanston and Dante L. Huff, 18, of Evanston and charged them with aggravated assault. Police said Huff handed the pistol to Blackwell, who then pointed the weapon at the victim. Their court date is set for Jan. 19.

Theft

Police say a man in a Steelers cap stole a fifth of Svedka vodka and a fifth of Christian Bros. brandy at the Dominick's on the 2700 block of Green Bay Road and then ran south out of the store at 10:25 p.m. on Wednesday. A store employee described the man as a 5-foot-8 black man about 200 pounds and over 40 years old. He was wearing a black leather jacket, black jeans and white tennis shoes.

Burglary

A Coach wallet was stolen from a 1995 Buick at the parking lot of Food 4 Less between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on the 2400 block of Main Street.

Vandalism

A window was broken out of a 1996 Chevrolet between 6:06 p.m. on Dec. 9 and 2:14 p.m. on Sunday on the 700 block of Dobson Street.

Driving under the Influence

William D. Waddell, 45, of Evanston was arrested and charged with driving under the influence at 7:48 p.m. on Tuesday on the 2400 block of Howard Street. His court date is set for Jan. 11.

 

Driving without a License

Francisco Orozco, 55, of Evanston was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday on the 1300 block of Asbury Avenue. His court date is set for next Thursday.

 

Open Container

James R. Buck, 49, of Evanston was arrested and charged with having an open alcohol container in public at 6:17 p.m. on Tuesday on the 1300 block of Foster Street. His court date is set for Jan. 6.
