Police Blotter Dec. 22: Computer Ripped from Semi; Receipts Go Missing at Repair Shop

The following arrest information was supplied by the Evanston Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The following items are taken from the Evanston Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Burglary

A window was forced down on a blue 1999 Freightliner semi truck cabin between 4 p.m. on Dec. 3 and 11 a.m. on Saturday on the 2200 block of Main Street. The dashboard was ripped up, and the vehicle's computer, worth $500 along with a switch panel were stolen.

Burglars broke into a house on the 2400 block of Marcy Avenue through an unlocked door and stole a 1.5-carat diamond gold ring, a gold necklace, a set of pearl earrings and a pearl necklace between 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Dec. 13.

Theft

A former mechanic at Power King has been accused of stealing a large number of receipts from the auto repair shop, possibly for use in fraudulent activity. The theft occurred between 12:42 a.m. on Nov. 26 and 3 p.m. on Tuesday on the 1200 block of Howard Street. The suspect is a white man about 5-foot-6 and 190 pounds.

A set of Hoffman Jewelers diamond earrings was found missing from a dresser drawer jewelery box in an apartment on the 500 block of Chicago Avenue at 7 a.m. on Dec. 16.

A man reportedly stole a purse from an unlocked drawer at Evanston Township High School between 1:19 p.m. and 2:48 p.m. on Tuesday on the 1600 block of Dodge Avenue. The suspect is a black man about 5-foot-9 and 200 pounds.

Vandalism

A golf course was marked up with graffiti between 2 p.m. and 2:12 p.m. on Tuesday on the 2700 block of Bryant Avenue.

CTA property was tagged with graffiti between 2 p.m. and 2:11 p.m. on Tuesday on the corner of Isabella Street and Girard Avenue.

Driving without a License

Kristen I. Corbbins, 36, of Evanston was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday on the 1300 block of Oakton Street. His court date is set for Jan. 11.

Lucio Damian-Peralta, 23, of Chicago was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 12:44 a.m. on today on the 700 block of Howard Street. His court date is set for Jan. 26.

Elliott W. Daniels, 19, of Chicago was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 12:12 a.m. on Wednesday on the 2200 block of Main Street. His court date is set for Jan. 19.

 

Man with Gun

A man with a gun was a reported at 4:21 a.m. today on the 2400 block of Church Street.
