Police Blotter Dec. 27: Man Robbed by Drinking Buddies; Honda Stolen; 8 Charged with Holiday DUIs

The following arrest information was supplied by the Evanston Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The following items are taken from the Evanston Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Robbery

Two men allegedly robbed their drinking companion at gunpoint at 3:10 a.m. on Christmas Eve morning on the 1700 block of Emerson Street. The men wree reportedly drinking with two other men when one pulled out the gun and stole $300 cash, a U.S. Cellular cell phone, a driver's license, a set of keys and the man's jeans. The first man was a light-complexioned black man about 5-foot-2 and 175 pounds who wore a black hoodie and the other was a 6-foot-1 black man about 189 pounds, also in a black hoodie. The victim grabbed his jeans back from the two robbers and then ran into a nearby house. The assailants left the scene.

Theft

A black two-door Honda Civic SI was stolen off the 1200 block of Maple Avenue between 7 p.m. on Thursday and 2 p.m. on Friday.

A 17-year-old Evanston resident was arrested and charged with retail theft at 7:58 p.m. on Friday at Dominick's on the 1900 block of Dempster Street.

A 16-year-old and a 17-year-old Wilmette resident were arrested and charged with retail theft at 8:43 p.m. on Friday at the Dominick's on the 2700 block of Green Bay Road.

A locked, blue Schwinn bicycle was reported stolen from a bike rack on the 800 block of Chicago Avenue at 5 p.m. on Thursday.

An Apple iPhone was stolen from a secured locker at Evanston Township High School between 9:20 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Thursday on the 1600 block of Dodge Avenue.

Burglary

Three hundred dollars was stolen from a laundromat on the 800 block of Dodge Avenue between 10 p.m. on Dec. 21 and 6 a.m. on Thursday.

The front passenger window of a 1995 Jeep was busted out and two glass punch bowls were stolen from the vehicle between 9:30 p.m. on Christmas and 5 p.m. on Monday on the 2000 block of Brown Avenue.

Cash and a box of coffee were stolen from an unlocked 2007 Honda between 10 p.m. on Thursday and 3 p.m. on Friday on the 500 block of Sherman Avenue.

Vandalism

Two small windows were broken out with rocks on a house on the 2100 block of Livingston Street between 10 a.m. on Dec. 20 and 10 a.m. on Friday.

A window was knocked out of a 1995 Honda between 10 p.m. on Christmas and 12:25 p.m. on Monday on the 500 block of Forest Avenue.

The driver side of a 2001 Ford Explorer was keyed between 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 19 and 8 a.m. on Dec. 20 on the 1100 block of Sheridan Road.

Driving under the Influence

Alscee M. Bonner, 22, of Chicago was arrested and charged with driving under the influence at 8:50 p.m. on Friday on the 1600 block of Benson Avenue. His court date is set for March 1.

Derrick E. Dumnicki, 19, of Glenview was arrested and charged with driving under the influence at 12:26 p.m. on Monday on the 2500 block of Gross Point Road. His court date is set for Feb. 23.

Tyrone Gist, 59, of Evanston was arrested and charged with driving under the influence at 9:47 p.m. on Dec. 15 on the 1600 block of Dodge Avenue. His court date is set for Feb. 7.

Joshua P. Lefley, 46, of Wilmette was arrested and charged with driving under the influence at 2:49 a.m. on Christmas Eve on the corner of McCormick Boulevard and Bridge Street. His court date is set for Jan. 19.

Scott S. Shiff, 45, of Evanston was arrested and charged with driving under the influence at 3:14 p.m. on Thursday on the corner of McDaniel Avenue and Simpson Street. His court date is set for Jan. 5.

Robert L. Strauder, 39, of Evanston was arrested and charged with driving under the influence at 4:05 a.m. on Christmas on the 600 block of Sherman Avenue. His court date is set for Jan. 26.

Alexander D. Theo, 27, of Evanston was arrested and charged with driving under the influence at 2:14 a.m. on Christmas Eve on the 500 block of Sheridan Road. His court date is set for Feb. 9.

Keith L. Williams, 43, of Chicago was arrested and charged with driving under the influence at 2:30 a.m. on Christmas Eve on the 1100 block of Brummel Street. His court date is set for Jan. 26.

Failure to Disperse

Brian A. Young, 24 and Dominque A. Young, 18, of Evanston were arrested and charged with failure to disperse at 1:05 a.m. on Monday on the 1700 block of Dodge Avenue. Their court date is set for Jan. 23.

Fake ID

Matthew A. Kopec, 18, of Northfield was arrested and charged with using a false identification at 11:49 p.m. on Friday on the 800 block of Grove Street. His court date is set for Jan. 23.

Marijuana Possession

Justin W. Johnson, 21, of Chicago was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana at 12:25 a.m. on Christmas Eve on the 1800 block of Dempster Street. His court date is set for Feb. 7.

Jermey McCray, 21, of Skokie was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana at 4:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve on the 1900 block of Darrow Avenue. His court date is set for Feb. 7.

Driving without a License

Aisha S. Atkins, 32, of Evanston was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 7:50 a.m. on Thursday on the corner of Church Street and Pitner Avenue. Her court date is set for Feb. 9.

Victor Gomez, 39, of Evanston was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 7:50 a.m. on Thursday on the corner of Church Street and Pitner Avenue. His court date iss et for Feb. 9.

Parrish Lofton, 45, of Naperville was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 1:30 a.m. on Christmas Eve on the corner of South Boulevard and Sheridan Road. His court date is set for Jan. 26.

Joel Madrigal, 25, of Chicago was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 1:15 a.m. on Christmas Eve on the 1300 block of Howard Street. His court date is set for Jan. 11.

Maria D. Ruedo-Bucio, 29, of Chicago was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 7:58 a.m. on Friday on the 600 block of Ridge Avenue. Her court date is set for Jan. 11.

Jose A. Salinas-Rubio, 35, of Skokie was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 8:34 a.m. on Friday on the 1300 block of Oakton Street. His court date is set for Jan. 11.

Keillee D. Sutton, 33, of Chicago was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 2:18 a.m. on Christmas Eve on the 7500 block of North California Avenue in Chicago. Her court date is set for Feb. 7.

Shots Fired

A woman was spotted with a gun in a parking lot on the 1100 block of Howard Street at 8 p.m. on Monday. The suspect is a Hispanic woman about 5-foot-1 and 115 pounds.

Gun shots were heard at 12:35 p.m. on Christmas on the 700 block of Forest Avenue.

Gun shots were heard at 2:08 a.m. on Christmas Eve on the corner of Dodge Avenue and Church Street.
