Police Blotter Dec. 7: North Evanston Hit with Four Auto Burglaries
The following arrest information was supplied by the Evanston Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
The following items are taken from the Evanston Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Burglary
Four unlocked cars were burglarized in north Evanston in the overnight hours between Monday and Tuesday:

A burglar stole a wallet from a white 1997 Mercedes-Benz E320 between 7 p.m. on Monday and 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday on the 2700 block of Reese Avenue. The wallet was later recovered, minus four credit cards and the driver's license.
An “Over the Hedge” DVD and a cell phone charger were stolen from a black 2009 Honda Odyssey van between midnight and 8 a.m. on Tuesday on the 2400 block of Park Place. The items were worth $50 total.

Thirty dollars in quarters was stolen from a 1999 Volvo V70 station wagon between 4:30 p.m. on Monday and 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday on the 2500 block of Hurd Avenue.
A gray 2011 Toyota Highlander was broken into on the 2700 block of Lincolnwood Drive between midnight on Friday and 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday. The vehicle was ransacked, but nothing was taken.
Theft
A Dodge Avenue street sign was stolen by four males at 9:26 p.m. on Tuesday on the 1000 block of Dodge Avenue.
A locked bike was reported stolen off a rack at 8:20 a.m. on Tuesday on the 1700 block of Maple Avenue.
A 17-year-old Evanston resident was arrested and charged with theft at 5:31 p.m. on Tuesday on the 1900 block of Dempster Street.
Vandalism
Someone cut the Christmas lights around a yard on the 1900 block of Lee Street between 11 p.m. on Friday and 6 p.m. on Saturday.
A lock to a door and the board over the window of a vacant house were damaged between 2:30 p.m. on Sunday and 8:08 a.m. on Monday on the 1700 block of Grey Avenue.
Trespassing
A 14-year-old Evanston resident was arrested and charged with trespassing at 5:35 p.m. on Tuesday on the 1900 block of Dempster Street.
Driving without a License
Margarita Breceda-Valdez, 51, of Evanston was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 8:54 a.m. on Tuesday on the 500 block of Dodge Avenue. Her court date is set for Jan. 11.
Alfredo Colin-Guzman, 30, of Chicago was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 12:25 p.m. on Monday on the 1600 block of Dodge Avenue. His court date is set for Dec. 29.
Daniel L. Degner, 49, of Waterloo, Iowa, was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 9:36 a.m. on Tuesday on the 1700 block of Oakton Street. His court date is set for Jan. 11.
